Val Kilmer and Montel Williams are wearing nail polish!
In the March 17th, 2003 issue of People Magazine there is an article about men getting beauty services that used to be for women only. On Page 84 Montel says that he is a pedicure fan and that he wears black or brown polish on his toes.

In the May 5th, 2003 issue of People Magazine (latest issue) there is an article on page 110 about the shoes that men are wearing. There is a picture of Val Kilmer wearing open toe Birkenstock like sandals with bright red nail polish on his toenails. The caption says that he is in touch with his feminine side and values his freedom.

The nail polish for men trend was started this last fall in a big way by David Beckham. David is married to Posh Spice of the Spice Girls and is the captain of the English Soccer Team. David wears pink or red polish on his nails.

Nail polish is simply a form of self expression that is no different than getting a tattoo or body piercing. It is acutally better and more fun that a tattoo because you can change the color or get a different nail design at anytime and pedicures are good for your feet.

Items that were once thought of as being very feminine are now being worn by men regularly. A prime example of this is diamond earrings. I was at was at an open house today and the real estate agent complimented me on my perfect pedicure with red polish and mentioned that she had seen the picuture of Val Kilmer with Red toenails and thought that it was very cool and said "it is cool that guys are having fun too".

We need to get over the ridiculous issues of what men can and cannot wear. If it looks good and makes you feel good, then wear it.

Jamie :-)
