Heels worn with your children 04-09-2005 03:42 AM

My eldest son is 22 and the youngest, a girl, is close to 18. Right from the out-set their mom and I tried to be honest and straight forward with them in all things.
Although I didn’t wear high feminine styles around the kids, I did wear very low key heels and wedges etc. My shoes and boots have never been hidden and were just “there” as a part of my everyday wardrobe. In saying that and because of the reasons mentioned earlier,I made a point of not wearing heels around them when their friends were about.
My children have grown into intelligent, caring and well adjusted young men and women, unaffected by my choice in footwear and thats how it should be.I am also pleased to say I have a very close and loving relationship with each of them.
I have to admit though,my daughter is developing a shoe bug as well and has been known to borrow the odd pair of heels from me..lol...and often swipes my knee highs.
I suppose all I can really suggest to you is: “be lovingly open and honest with your family and error on the side of caution if you’re the least bit concerned”.
My best regards to you..
