Women Changed: Why can't men? 11-11-2003 04:57 PM

I was born in 1944. I remember a time when women only wore dresses and skirts. When women, if they wore pants at all for chores around the house ran inside and changed to dresses or skirts before walking down the street to a neighbor's house. Or to go shopping, etc. Do you remember when boys only wore long pants? Boys didn't even wear shorts, like they do today. Shorts were only worn by boys for gym class or sporting events.
So look at the changes today. The younger men, growing up today, should have little or no trouble accepting the idea of MIS [Men In Skirts]-MIK [Men In Kilts]. But still they do at times.
And there are many lurkers and wannabes that still need to get up that courage for their first outing in either a kilt or a skirt. I'm to a point where I wear my kilts or skirts freely, at home, around the neighborhood and out shopping. My only problem is my wife wants to hide out and not let anyone see me if I'm "skirted" and she sees kilts as skirts. She thinks that women should wear kilts, but not men. Go figure!
But we really need to help the first timers get out there. We need the man power of numbers. If all the lurkers and first timers got up the courage the MIS-MIK numbers would grow quickly. But they need to realize it's all an artificial concept being imposed on them culturally.
The hippies almost got MIS off the ground in the 1960s but were done in by the miniskirt look which was just too much exposure. Also that was a time of great conflict on differing views and one side was not about to accept the others efforts. So mini-skirted boys never made it to mainstream.
With our new age and new methods to reach people we have the chance to do it now.
