Bravehearts: Men in Skirts News Article Response 04-26-2004 03:54 PM
Here is a response to the news article No more 'uniformed, naive' attitudes on men's leg fashion.
Good day dear sir,
I read your article on the skirt exhibition by Jean-Paul Gaultier at the New York Metropolitan Museum. It is so very strange to find people so encased in their ways that they can't get to grips with freedom of choices. Every person has got the right to choose what car they like, what colour looks best to them and they can even choose who their friends might be, but people are ridiculed and questioned about certain clothing they choose to wear?
If I chose to wear a miniskirt, sheer pantyhose and 6 inch heels in the middle of winter, it would surely be my decision, just as it is for ladies doing exactly the same. The question is not to ask if he did it the wrong time of year, but rather if he didn't do it parallel with wrong mindsets of the masses. Whether a male shaves his legs, wears high heels like women, or a skirt of any length should be his choice.
Women have the choice to dress as men, hug and kiss each other and do jobs traditionally done by men. When will men be granted freedom to choose what they please in life?
Thank you,
JCK
