TV Show Creates Conformity
| News! News! News! |
|---|
A new television show on The Learning Channel is called What Not To Wear. This show is supposed to help people who are dressing improperly to improve their look, but this it does not do. The show creates clones of all people to conform to the American business definition of professional dress. Rather than allowing individuals to express their own individuality or to even express themselves freely.
The show dictates what people should wear to both be “in style” and adapt to the corporate dress codes. There are two major problems here. Number one is that what is “in style” is ever changing. The styles that the show pushes on people today will no longer be valid next year. Number two is that corporate dress codes are abusive and non-productive. It has been shown by the more relaxed dress in the office and the continuous improvements in productivity that restrictive dress codes do not improve productivity or attitudes in corporations.
This show is everything that the Men’s Fashion Freedom Movement is against. I ask you as a member of the Men’s Fashion Freedom Movement to speak out against such fashion fascism. The way to men’s fashion freedom is not and never will be through conformity!!
