Yesterday I walked into a local Good Will Super store and was greeted by a female clerk behind the counter with a big HI. She says to me, I was beginning to wonder if you would be stopping in again because I have put aside two skirts that I think that you would be interested in. (I was wearing shorts, and I have only bought 3 skirts from this store in the last year but I told this clerk that all of them were for me at the time of purchase).
I was surprised as she hurried to the back of the store and appeared carring two accordion pleated skirts, one in a light gray with very "stiff" sharp knife like pleats and the other a powder blue very light weight and VERY SILKY feel. She says she thought that they would fit me and asked if I wanted to try them on. I said OK, so she led me over to a dressing room and waited outside. I tried on the gray one first and it was a perfect fit.
She asked if everything was OK. I said yes, this one fits. She says let me see so I stepped out and was surprised to see 4 other female clerks waiting. They all said it looked really great. I went back in, put on the blue one and came back out. Again same response, except one said she didn't think it was "ME", and she liked the gray one on me better.
I went back in, put the gray one over the blue and came back out. She said that's the one! I was going back in to change when the original girl said, excuse me sir, but you will have to wear them out of the store. I said OK, grabbed my pants and walked up to the register. She told me, your money is no good, these are on us, have a great day and enjoy your new skirts.
I couldn't believe it I as walked out wearing both skirts. The silky skirt really felt great under the "rigid" one. I got two looks as I was getting into my truck to go home. You can bet that I'll shop that store more often than every 2 or 3 weeks.
